Welcome to the website of Ponteland ASC Swimming Club

About The Club

Welcome to Ponteland Amateur Swimming Club. The club is based at Ponteland Leisure Centre, which is located north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Club was founded in 1992 and currently has about 100 swimmers, split into three squads, 'Fun'damental, Skill Development and Club Squad.

Ponteland ASC is totally run by volunteers, who organise all of the sessions and galas swimmers take part in, including the administrative tasks involved. The club operates the framework of an ASA recognised constitution, the requirements of which state the committee manages the club's finances and activities. The club has also adopted the code of conduct and the ASA child protection policy.

The Club shall not refuse an application for membership on discriminatory gounds, whether in relation to ethnic origin, age, sex, religion, disability, political persuasion or sexual orientation.

Responsible to:
A sub-committee of Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and Welfare Officer

Will be self employed, liable for correctly accounting own tax and NI.
Location - Ponteland Leisure Centre.

Specifications
Qualified to ASA Level 3 Coach
A first aid certificate would also be recommended
To be CRB checked every 3 years
Attendance on Child Protection Course.
Good time management, ability to use time efficiently and effectively.
A commitment to continual professional development.
An understanding of national, regional and local structures of swimming.
A knowledge and understanding of swimming development.
Experience and understanding of working with officials, coaches, teachers, volunteers and young people.
Excellent planning, organisational, communication skills and confidentiality.
Basic IT.
A car with a full driving licence.
